Diluvia is a shallow basin carved from Vermont marble, quarried in the northeastern United States. Notable for its creamy, shimmering whites and swirling veins of gray-green, this marble has been used in important American architectural and sculptural landmarks in New York City and Washington, D.C. Vermont marble is hundreds of millions of years older than Carrara marble, and has a larger crystal structure and lower porosity than the Italian variety.
